Gosforth Junior High School is one of only three middle schools in Newcastle upon Tyne. Students transfer to Gosforth High School (a Specialist Language College) at the end of year 8. We are a regional Additionally Resourced Centre for students with visual impairment. There are approximately 385 students on roll aged between 9 - 13 years, covering Key Stages 2 & 3.

In 2008 a very successful Ofsted inspection judged the school, ‘A good and improving school with outstanding features: Leadership, management and the capacity to improve are excellent’.

Parents say that ‘the school is pushing forward at an excellent pace, fuelled by a very strong management team’.
